Shape of the Week – May 25 - 29

Dear Matsqui families,

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to the District Survey regarding whether or not you plan to send your child(ren) back to school on June 1st. There are so many factors for parents to consider.

To those of you feeling comfortable about sending your child back, we will work tirelessly to create a safe environment for your children to come to. We are so excited to have students back in the building!

For those who are most comfortable keeping your child(ren) at home for June, we completely respect and support your decision. As the direction from the ministry is now shifting to an emphasis on in-school instruction, families that choose remote learning will have reduced learning opportunities for June. For example, interaction through Google Meets may be less as in-class instruction resumes. Each individual teacher will continue to communicate with you through SeeSaw and/or Google Classroom.

To those who are undecided, we completely understand, this is a big decision in a time that we have never faced before. Some of our classes are reaching the maximum capacity so we may need to look at starting a Pod B. The more accurate information we have, the better we can plan for it and then communicate it to our school community. As the District Survey is now closed, please communicate your decision to your classroom teacher directly as soon as possible. Thank you!

Here is a link to the information I sent out yesterday about returning to school in June if you’d like to look at it again:  June Learning at Matsqui

If you’ve changed your mind and would like to send your child back for June, please let your child’s teacher know. Thanks. 😊

For this coming week, remote learning will proceed as usual.
