McMillan Elementary Students Raises $700 for the School Library
At McMillan Elementary School, the spirit of community and collaboration shone brightly during their recent two-day school dance fundraiser dedicated to supporting their beloved library. This incredible initiative was spearheaded by the Grade 5 Leadership team, known as the "Joy & Kindness Club," who worked tirelessly to bring this event to life.
From the outset, the Joy & Kindness Club's enthusiasm was contagious. The students created eye-catching posters that adorned the hallways, enticing their peers to join in on the fun. Their commitment to spreading joy and kindness was evident in their promotional efforts and their aim to foster a love for reading and learning through the library.
The school dance was uniquely organized over two days, allowing all students to participate - with odd divisions attending one day and even divisions the next. This setup ensured that everyone could enjoy the festivities, dance to great music, and create memorable experiences with friends.
Generosity flowed freely as well, with donations being accepted at the door. The school community rallied together, showcasing just how much everyone cared about enriching library resources. The results were astonishing! Together, McMillan Elementary School raised over $700.
"I am so proud of our Joy & Kindness leadership team for creating this initiative and for our school community for supporting our school library with their generous donations," says Suzi McClelland, Vice Principal at McMillan Elementary.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated, donated, and supported this initiative. The school community looks forward to more events like this in the future that enrich the school community and promote the values of kindness and cooperation.
